Genetic diversity of Paecilomyces variotii isolates by SSR marker in Kerman province, Iran
Die-back disease caused by Paecilomyces variotti is one of the most destructive diseases of pistachio in Iran. In this study, genetic diversity of Paecilomyces variotti isolates was investigated with SSR marker, using six primers pairs. Sampling was done from pistachio gardens in different geographical zones of Kerman province during summer 2013. Various fungal isolates were isolated from infec...
متن کاملPaecilomyces variotii in peritoneal dialysate.
Four cases of peritonitis caused by the filamentous fungus Paecilomyces variotii in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis are reported. Removal of the Tenckhoff catheter and antifungal chemotherapy led to resolution of symptoms in all cases. Possible contaminating events are discussed, and reported infections with P. variotii are reviewed.
متن کاملCorrelation of biological activity and reactor performance in biofiltration of toluene with the fungus Paecilomyces variotii CBS115145.
A biofiltration system inoculated with the mold Paecilomyces variotii CBS115145 showed a toluene elimination capacity (EC) of around 250 g/m3 of biofilter/h, which was higher than the values usually reported for bacteria. P. variotii assimilated m- and p-cresols but not the o isomer. Initial toluene hydroxylation occurred both on the methyl group and through the p-cresol pathway. These results ...
متن کاملgenetic diversity of paecilomyces variotii isolates in kerman province, iran
in this study, the genetic diversity among paecilomyces variotti isolaes was investigated. sampling was performed from pistachio garden in seven geographical region of kerman province during 2011-2012. seventy isolates were identified as p. variotii species using morphological criteria. the genetic diversity among 20 selected isolates was assayed by variation at ssr marker bands using 12 pair p...
متن کاملA case of Exophiala oligosperma successfully treated with voriconazole☆
Exophiala oligosperma is an uncommon pathogen associated with human infections, predominantly in immunocompromised hosts. Case reports of clinical infections related to E. oligosperma have been limited to 6 prior publications, all of which have shown limited susceptibility to conventional antifungal therapies, including amphotericin B, itraconazole, and fluconazole. We describe the first case o...
